RAZE is site specific, meant to be demolished or disappear. The exhibition as a whole will feature a range of media, including sculpture, sound, and street actions. The installation of RAZE, is its antonym, “to build;” these actions go hand and hand. The action of being destroyed or erased, covered over or repurposed is more important than the object; it’s the action that carries the cultural memory. The installation will activate the space. The purpose is to create a situation that instigates a contemporary conversation engaging a diverse public. RAZE plays with the terms of permanence and supports cultural transference between public, industries, and genres. The exhibition begins as productions starts. Each QR-Code appearing as part of this exhibition, including on this invitation, points to a media based project online. Contact:

S/N participates in ‘Intersection’ at The Freies Museum in Berlin

S/N Coalition participates in “Intersection” an exhibition curated by Feng Ying at the Freies Museum in Berlin. Exhibition opens at 7pm on October 8th and runs until October 18th 2011.

Intersection is an exhibition presenting works by twelve international artists who have lived and worked at some point in the city of Berlin. Some of them are still living and practicing here, while others are now creating their work in other parts of the world. For this group show they come together once again for a temporary reunification. As an ideal place for young and emerging artists, the city of Berlin not only serves as a “crossroads” (Deutsch for “Intersection”) for their life’s journey, but also creates intersections with each other’s artwork. Despite their unique differences, all of the artwork in the exhibition seems to serve the same purpose: to inspire the viewer to be touched by an original thought, a hidden surprise, or an unexpected moment in the blink of . an eye If this kind of communication between the viewer and the artwork actually takes place then the most important of all intersections will be reached. Participating artists: Irini Bachlitzanaki, Katrin Caspar, Jennida Chase & Hassan Pitts (S / N Coalition), Christina Fischer, Yujin Lee, Igor Mihajlovic, Jonne Pitkanen, Markku Metso & Martin Bircher, Eeva-Liisa Puhakka, Miki Watanabe Curated by Feng Ying
